One enquiry, two useful checks

Need the trade impact as well as the carbon cost?

Start with the CBAM Cost Check, then add a Trade Measures Check when quotas, safeguards, anti-dumping duties or origin rules could change the landed result.

  • Origin, melt-and-pour and documentation checks

Questions

What does the CBAM Cost Check cost?

One-off prices: €490 for up to 5 product lines and €990 for up to 20 product lines. Prices exclude VAT; reverse charge for EU businesses; local tax rules apply elsewhere.

How long does it take?

Within 3 working days after we receive your complete product codes, origins and tonnes. Supplier emissions data is optional, so you can start without waiting for it; if provided, we compare it with default values.

How is the CBAM cost calculated?

Certificates = emissions per tonne (plus the mark-up if default values are used) minus the free-allocation deduction (CBAM factor × benchmark), times tonnes. Cost = certificates × the certificate price. Default values carry a 10% mark-up in 2026 and 20% in 2027, and the CBAM factor is 97.5% in 2026 and 95% in 2027. A worked example is in our CBAM landed-cost article.

Does CBAM apply to my imports?

CBAM has applied to imports of iron and steel into the EU since 1 January 2026. Importers bringing in more than 50 t a year of CBAM goods must be authorised CBAM declarants. The first annual declaration and surrender, covering 2026 imports, are due by 30 September 2027 (details and sources).

Is the sample report real?

No. The sample is for a fictional client and uses official EU values and prices as of 15 Oct 2026. The actual-emissions values for India, Viet Nam and China in the sample are illustrative and marked on every page.

Is this legal or customs advice?

No. Figures are estimates to support decisions. Confirm filings with your customs broker or adviser.
