One enquiry, two useful checks
Need the carbon cost as well as the trade measure?
The Trade Measures Check covers quotas, safeguards, duties and origin rules. Add a CBAM Cost Check when the same shipment also needs a carbon-cost and supplier-data view.
The companion service adds
- CBAM cost under default and supplier data
- Certificate-price and reporting assumptions
- Budget, deadline and landed-cost context
What is included
- For each product line (CN code, origin and market): the safeguard quota that applies, its current usage and a run-out estimate
- The out-of-quota duty (50% in the EU and the UK since 1 July 2026)
- Anti-dumping and countervailing duties to check, with the official link
- Upcoming changes, with dates
- Every line carries its source and data date. Anything that cannot be confirmed from official data is marked “Manual check needed” with the official link, never guessed
- A clear label: indicative, not legal or customs advice
Who it is for
- Steel buyers and importers planning shipments into the EU, the UK or Canada
- Traders, distributors and service centres that need to know whether a quota still has room before they commit
- Exporters checking how much quota is left in a destination market
- Compliance and procurement teams that want a sourced record of the measures that apply to each product line

Questions
What does the Trade Measures Check cost?
One-off prices: €290 for up to 5 product lines and €490 for up to 20 product lines. Prices exclude VAT; reverse charge for EU businesses; local tax rules apply elsewhere.
How long does it take?
Within 3 working days after we receive your complete product codes, origins and destination markets. Each report is checked by a person before it is sent.
Which markets are covered?
The EU, the UK and Canada. The Steel Trade Measures Tracker also lists the measures in force in the United States, Mexico, Turkey and India.
What does “Manual check needed” mean?
Some items cannot be settled from official quota data alone: anti-dumping and countervailing duties, Canada lines, CN codes that span more than one quota category or use an “ex” code, and free-trade-agreement eligibility. The report marks them “Manual check needed” and links the official source, so nothing is invented.
How are run-out estimates made?
They use the recent pace of quota use (the last 7 EU weekly points or 14 UK daily points) with a range of plus or minus 20%, and are labelled as estimates. EU data comes from the European Commission and UK data from official UK government sources; every line shows its data date.
What is the out-of-quota duty?
In the EU the duty is 50% above quota under Regulation (EU) 2026/1384, and the UK also applies 50% above quota since 1 July 2026. See our guide to the EU tariff-quota regime.
Is the sample report real?
No. The sample is for a fictional client, every page is marked “Sample report · illustrative client”, and its quota data is dated 9 to 14 Oct 2026.
Is this legal or customs advice?
No. The report is indicative. Confirm filings with your customs broker or adviser.
